Other forms of maternity care
There may be circumstances that require a different form of maternity care. Below you can read more about other forms of maternity care that Mammae Mia offers.
MINIMUM CARE: 3 HOURS OF MATERNITY CARE PER DAY
Minimum maternity care is 24 hours, spread over 8 days. The care consists of:
- Caring and checking up on the mother
- Caring and checking up on the baby
- Information, instruction and integration of the baby into the family
- Observing, signalling and reporting
- Breastfeeding guidance
- Guaranteeing hygiene
MAXIMUM CARE: 8 HOURS OF MATERNITY CARE PER DAY
There may be circumstances that make it necessary for the maternity nurse to support you extra during the maternity week. This can be done up to a maximum of 80 hours, spread over 10 days. The midwife must give a medical indication for this.
EXTENDED OR DELAYED MATERNITY CARE
It is possible that due to circumstances there is a need for extra days of maternity care. In consultation with the midwife, the care can be extended to a maximum of 10 days. Delayed care is possible after a (long-term) hospitalization of mother and /or child. How many hours depends on the policy conditions of your health insurance.
